This part of the book was really good a lot of things happened. For example, Esme brought home one of her students for the night to watch because their mother was getting a retraining order against a man that she was scared would lash out. I found this to be odd because teachers could get into a lot of trouble if false allegations are made. Now a days teachers usually do not go to kids houses unless they are invited usually by a parent. If someone is to make false allegations teachers could lose their job and even their career. Also there was racist comments being made by the principle, Mr. Turner. He says that blacks should be treated differently then whites because of what they face each day. I find this to be very untrue. White kids can face just as much crime and violence black kids.
